Hoang Duc relapses with COVID-19 ahead Oman clash
VOV.VN - Vietnamese midfielder Hoang Duc has suffered a relapse of COVID-19, according to the latest news provided by the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF).
This comes after Duc took his sample for testing on March 23, with the results indicating that he was positive for SARS-CoV-2. This means the player will definitely miss the upcoming clash against Oman which is scheduled to take place at the My Dinh National Stadium on March 24.
Previously, Duc has also been infected with the virus ahead of the national team’s match against Australia and China with took place earlier this year.
Furthermore, during a training session held in Hanoi, Hoang Duc also suffered a knee injury and was subsequently forced to train separately with a physio.
So far, a total of eight players have contracted COVID-19 and have been forced to go into quarantine.
With a series of players missing, the Vietnamese national team only consists of 23 players. Without key players in the lineup, it is unclear whether or not head coach Park Hang-seo will call up any replacements.
