VOV.VN - Japan recruited more than 41,000 Vietnamese workers during the past seven months, making up the largest recipient of Vietnamese guestworkers in the reviewed period, according to the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs.

Japan was followed by Taiwan (China) that welcomed nearly 37,000 Vietnamese workers, the Republic of Korea 1,799, China 1,024, Hungary 802, Singapore 800, and Romania 537.

Overall, Vietnam sent 85,224 workers abroad in seven months, meeting 77.47% of the target set for the whole year.

Over the past years Japan has always been the leading recipient of Vietnamese guestworkers as this market offers attractive working conditions and income, opening up job opportunities for Vietnamese workers.

Most recently the Department of Overseas Labour under the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, and Japan’s Wakayama Prefecture signed a Memorandum of Understanding on legal framework cooperation regarding sending Vietnamese workers to Japan in July 2023.

Wakayama desires to recruit Vietnamese interns, special-skill workers and engineers to address a shortage of human resources in the prefecture.

Also in July 2023 JHL Vietnam Group and Nozomi Japan signed a contract to deploy the Japanese standardized E-learning training program for medical caregivers in Vietnam, opening up the opportunities for Vietnam to send workers to Japan to care for the elderly in future.
