President greets leaders of Indian political parties

The Vietnamese State leader thanked the CPI and CPIM for their valuable support to the Communist Party of Vietnam and Vietnamese people during their pasts struggle for independence as well as the current process of national construction and development.

The Indian political party leaders, for their part, congratulated Vietnam on its socio-economic development and pledged their efforts to maintain a close friendship between the people of the two nations and expedite  the implementation of Vietnam-India agreements reached during this visit to further strengthen the long-standing ties.

President Quang invited Reddy and Yechury to visit Vietnam at a convenient time.
The same day, President Quang also met with President of the Indo-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Group Dr. Keshava Rao and Vietnam’s Honorary Consul in Nepal Dr. Rajesh Kazi Shrestha.

The Vietnamese leader congratulated Dr. Rao on his new election as the group’s president, expressing his hope that, as a prestigious Indian senator, he will play an active role in strengthening the bilateral relationship.

The Indo-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Group was set up as shown by the outcomes of the India visit by National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan in December 2016, reflecting the two legislative bodies’ good relations in recent years, Rao said.

As the chair of the group, he promised to intensify delegation exchanges and cooperation between parliamentary committees and within the group as well as their partnership at international and regional parliamentary forums in which both sides are members.

The same day,  President Quang and his wife visited Nehru Memorial Museum and met with Indian politicians, researchers, scholars, and students. He said Vietnam and India need to strengthen economic-trade connectivity and consider it a development momentum of their comprehensive strategic partnership.

 “It’s important to boost marine cooperation, a key area for bilateral ties and for peace, stability, and development in Indo-Pacific and Asia. The two sides need to regularly exchange information, share experience, build capacity in dealing with marine security issues, coordinate in developing blue ocean economy through marine connectivity, cooperate in seaports, and preserve and use sustainably marine resources.”
