Lee Nguyen, a Vietnamese American player will return to Vietnam to play on trial with former V-League champions Hoang Anh Gia Lai by the end of October.
National team managers plan to organise two matches in which Nguyen will take part to show off his skills.
The winger, 22 years old, has represented the US national team as a member of its youth squad. He played one year at Indiana University, before electing to go pro after his freshman year.
In his international career, Nguyen played for the Netherlands’ PSV Eindhoven before moving to Randers FC of Denmark.
