Petrol prices reach highest level of VND23,510 per litre in latest adjustment

VOV.VN - The retail prices of petrol rose from 3 p.m. on October 23 following the latest adjustment made by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance.

According to the changes, the price of E5RON92 went up by VND460 per litre to VND22.460 per litre, while that of RON95-III increased by VND470 to 23,510 per litre.

Elsewhere, the prices of diesel oil went up VND70 to reach VND22,480 per litre, while kerosene rose by VND290 to no more than VND22,750 per litre.

Meanwhile, mazut 180CST 3.5S was capped at VND16,610 per kilo, marking a rise of VND380 per litre compared to the previous period. In this latest price adjustment, the two ministries decided to not extract petrol oil prices from the price stabilisation fund.

According to industry insiders, the global petroleum market from October 11 to October 23 witnessed a slight increase due to factors such as the escalating Israel-Hamas conflict, the decrease in the US crude oil, and fuel inventories and OPEC member Iran’s call for an oil embargo on Israel over the conflict in Gaza.

From the beginning of this year, petrol prices have been adjusted up 17 times, down nine times, and kept unchanged four times.
