150 Vietnamese children win Toyota Dream Car Art Contest 2022

VOV.VN - As many as 150 Vietnamese children have been named as winners of the 12th Toyota Dream Car Art contest in Vietnam.

There were 15 first, 15 second, 30 third, and 90 consolation prizes offered to the most outstanding entries.

According to the organsing board, nine of the best paintings were selected to enter the final round in Japan in March 2022.

The contest was launched in October 2021 by Toyota Vietnam in co-ordination with the ‘Thieu nien Tien phong va Nhi dong’ (Young Pioneers and Children) Newspaper which targets children between the ages of seven to 15 from across the country.

The organising board said they had received a hugely enthusiastic response from students, with more 553,972 submissions.

The entries were mostly equal in quality, and contestants showcased their creativity and imagination in their artworks, said a member of the jury.

The Toyota Dream Car Art Contest has been organised annually by the Toyota Motor Corporation since 2004. Since then, the event has gone on to attract the participation of eight million children from 140 countries and territories worldwide.

In Vietnam, since the 2011 - 2012 school year, the initiative has become one of the largest-scale drawing contests nationwide, attracting the participation of about five million entries over nine years.

Vietnam is one of the countries that has recorded high achievements in the international competition, winning one gold, one silver, a bronze, and four consolation prizes so far.
