President assigns tasks to newly accredited ambassadors
VOV.VN - President Vo Van Thuong on January 9 awarded a decision to appoint and assign tasks to 26 Ambassadors and Heads of Vietnamese representative agencies abroad for the 2024-2027 term.
In his speech, Thuong congratulated the accredited diplomats on their appointment and wished them success in their new missions abroad.
He recalled Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong’s keynote speech at the recent diplomacy conference, saying the diplomatic sector should promote its pioneering role to build a comprehensive, modern and strong diplomacy, successfully implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress.
Thuong asked the Ambassadors to thoroughly grasp the Party leaders’ instructions to perform their duties well.
The Ambassadors and heads of representative agencies need to prioritize diplomacy to serve economic development, at the same time to pay attention to cultural diplomacy, in order to gather additional development resources for Vietnam and to help the world understand more about the country and people of Vietnam, stressed the president.
Representatives of the newly accredited diplomats vowed to proactively develop action plans to contribute to promoting cooperative relations between Vietnam and partners.
