The US's Orange County board of supervisors will provide assistance for Vietnamese language centres in southern California, said the county's supervisor Janet Nguyen.

Addressing a recent workshop on how to find new teaching methods for Vietnamese language held in Orange County, Janet Nguyen stressed the need to develop the Vietnamese language teaching centres.

The head of the Orange County agreed to discuss the assistance while drafting budget for the next year, she said.

According to Prof. Nguyen Van Khoa, Chairman of the "Hung Vuong" (King Hung) Cultural Heritage Association, there are 84 Vietnamese language teaching centres in southern California, attracting 16,000 learners.
