Top Chinese leader’s Vietnam visit in photos

VOV.VN - General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and President Xi Jinping paid a two-day State visit to Vietnam on November 12-13 at the invitation of Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and President Tran Dai Quang.

The special aircraft carrying Chinese top leader Xi Jinping landed at the Noi Bai International Airport at 11 am on November 12. 

This is the first overseas trip by President Xi Jinping after the CPC’s 19th National Congress.


On the afternoon of November 12, Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong hosted an official welcoming ceremony for President Xi Jinping at the Presidential Palace.

After the welcoming ceremony, talks were held between the two Party chiefs.

They witnessed the signing of 12 cooperation pacts and the exchange of seven other documents.

On the morning of November 13, China’s Party chief laid a wreath at the President Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum.

At the talks on November 12, President Quang described the top Chinese leader's choosing of Vietnam as the first country to visit after the CPC’s 19th National Congress as a demonstration of the CPC, Xi’s respect for Vietnam-China relations and support for the 2017 APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting.


Vietnam and China issued a joint statement affirming the determination to work closely to bolster their comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership for practical interests of the two peoples and for peace, stability and prosperity in the region.

President Xi Jinping left Hanoi on November 13 afternoon, concluding his two-day State visit to Vietnam.

Before the state visit to Vietnam, Party General Secretary and President Xi Jinping attended the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting and delivered an important speech at APEC CEO Summit.
