The awards ceremony for a painting contest entitled “Childhood and Sea” has been held in Nha Trang city to mark International Francophone Day (March 20).

Around 150 paintings selected from primary schools in Nha Trang city were sent to the contest. The organising board presented 40 awards to pupils from these schools.

The painting contest was launched by the Francophone Centre and the Nha Trang Beautiful Bay Club in January 2007. The paintings will be exhibited at schools and the Club House of Nha Trang Bay in Hon Chong (Chong Mount).

Meanwhile, many art performances have been held to mark the International Francophonie Day. Students and pupils from different schools in Nha Trang presented their art performances in the French language. Through poems, songs and stories in French, students in Nha Trang will further strengthen Vietnam’s friendly relations with France and countries in the Francophone community.
