A meeting was held in Ho Chi Minh City on April 27 to mark the 31st anniversary of southern Vietnam liberation and national reunification (April 30) and May Day.

Le Thanh Hai, Chairman of the HCM City People's Committee highlighted the historical significance of the April 30, 1975 victory and the Vietnamese people's struggle against US aggression.

Over the past 31 years, even though facing numerous difficulties and challenges, HCM City has done its best to create breakthroughs and overcome obstacles to obtain big achievements. The city has always maintained political stability, promoted economic development, and improved people's living condition, markedly contributing to national industrialisation and modernisation.
