This year’s trade turnover between Vietnam and China through the border gates in northeastern Quang Ninh increased sharply to US$708.2 million, including US$590.6 million worth of Vietnamese exports.
Of the revenues, rubber exports made up US$56.3 million, coal (US$50.5 million) and seafood (US$15 million).
As many as 788 businesses have participated in export-import activities via those border gates, many of them have also taken part in processing products for foreign enterprises, leasing bonded warehouses and importing goods for re-export, earning nearly US$300 million.
To boost two-way trade between Vietnam and China next year, the province plans to pour VND4 billion into commerce-tourism promotion programmes, send entrepreneurs to study the Chinese market, and assist export-import enterprises in opening representative offices in China’s Nanning and Kunming provinces.
