Mr Trong made the request at the NA’s 34^th session in Hanoi on September 14, which focused on hearing a report on preparations for the AIPA-31.

NA Chairman Trong emphasised that Vietnam has chosen “Solidarity for Sustainable Development of the ASEAN Community” as the theme of the AIPA-31 to strengthen co-operation and solidarity between ASEAN member countries and other regions. At the event, Vietnam will also introduce its image as a peaceful country with friendly people and diversified culture, he added.

Chairman of the NA Committee for External Relations and head of the AIPA-31 organising board, Nguyen Van Son, said that preparatory work for the event has been basically completed. By September 13, all nine AIPA member countries, seven dialogue partners and one special observer had agreed to attend the AIPA-31.
