Buffalo fighting festival in Dien Bien
VOV.VN - The fifth annual buffalo fighting festival kicked off in Dien Bien Dong district in the northern province of Dien Bien on February 6, the second day of the Lunar New Year festival (Tet).

| The deputy chairman of Dien Bien Dong district People’s Committee Vang A Ho said the competition aims to honour households which are good at raising buffaloes in the district whilst the festival is also an ideal venue for farmers to share techniques in cattle breeding. |

| At the same time the event is also an opportunity to encourage local people to improve their productivity and promote poverty reduction in a sustainable manner. |
