Vietnamese cuisine wins Korean diners’ hearts at Seoul Friendship Festival

VOV.VN - A range of Vietnamese dishes captured the hearts of Korean people at the Seoul Friendship Festival 2023 which took place on June 17 - 18 at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul in the Republic of Korea (RoK).

International friends were given the opportunity to discover Vietnamese culture and traditional cuisine through a booth set up by the Vietnamese Embassy in the RoK.

Typical foods such as “phở bò” (beef noodles) and “nem rán” (fried spring rolls) have recently gained popularity worldwide, receiving plenty of praise at the Seoul Friendship Festival 2023.

Most notably, in the hot weather of early summer, the taste of Vietnamese “cà phê sữa đá” (iced milk coffee) drew attention from plenty of Korean and international diners.

Furthermore, Vietnamese artists from Thang Long Music and Dance Theater put on many unique art performances during the event, attracting a large number of viewers.

The Seoul Friendship Festival was first held in October 1996. It has been held annually since then, but was disrupted during the 2020 - 2022 period due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

This year the annual festival draw the participation of 68 embassies in the RoK. A wide range of activities took place, including an exhibition on tourism promotion, a food exhibition, a traditional coffee exhibition, cultural performances, a photo exhibition on life across the world, a painting exhibition drawn by children, and a movie screening.
