Watermelon carving for Tet

VOV.VN - Watermelon carving is one of Vietnamese young people’s hobbies to be made as part of pre-Tet preparations.

As the Lunar New Year (Tet) is approaching, carved watermelons in different shapes of letters, the God of Wealth and 12 zodiac animals go on sale on Hanoi streets.

“I take one hour carve a watermelon,” Tuan, 23-years-old from Ha Tinh Province, shared.

“Buyers are very fond of watermelon carved in shapes of monkey, God of Wealth and carp,” he noted.

Each watermelon can be used for roughly 20 days.

Each is priced at VND150,000-250,000.

“10 watermelons are sold per day,” Tuan said.
