VFF urged to reform its operations

VOV.VN - The Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) set out tasks for reforming the organization by improving its operation’s content and formats at a meeting in the central city of Danang on June 27.

Participants said the VFF has strengthened a campaign called “All people united to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas."

With mobilized resources, the organization has helped build or repair thousands of houses for the poor, provided them with opportunities to develop production, and given them access to healthcare services and schooling. 

VFF President Nguyen Thien Nhan outlined the organization’s future direction.

“The government has adopted a resolution on a comprehensive program on state administrative reforms between 2011 and 2020, which aims to earn 80% of the people’s satisfaction with public services. So, the new and regular tasks of the Vietnam Fatherland Front are to uphold grassrootsdemocracy, monitor and assess the state agencies’ activities and participate in surveying people’s satisfaction in regards to public services."

The meeting also discussed the front's programs of action on implementing the resolution of the 12th National Party Congress, and enhancing its role in ensuring grassroots democracy and monitoring administrative reforms undertaken in the tax and customs sectors.
