ANZ Vietnam, an affiliate of the Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ANZ), has been presented with the “Best Retail Bank in Vietnam 2008” award by the Asian Banker magazine.
This is the fourth time the bank has received the title. Its revenues last year doubled the figure of the previous year and it is also the first in Vietnam to offer a free-of-charge mobile banking service.
ANZ is now carrying out its development plan to open six additional transactions offices in the country this year.
The Asian Banker Awards were first held in 2001. This year saw the participation of 120 banks and financial institutions from 22 countries in the Asia-Pacific, the Central Asian and Gulf regions.
