Cyberattack on VNDirect’s system by international organisation under control

VOV.VN - VNDirect, the first online trading broker in Vietnam, said on March 25 that it has resolved a cyberattack by an international organisation on its system and has been making efforts to restore the entire system in order to limit disruptions in transactions.

This was just a cyberattack and has been settled, said VNDIRECT Securities Joint Stock Company in the latest announcement, adding that the company is trying its best to restore trading sessions as soon as possible.

According to VNDirect, all customers’ data and information is being protected and is safe as the incident only affected their current transaction activities.

The company also noted that investors are able to contact management staff or call the Customer Service Center 1900545409 for further information.

Earlier on the morning of March 24, VNDirect's entire system was attacked by an international organisation, making the company's entire trading platform temporarily inaccessible.

VNDirect stated that the company is currently working alongside leading technology corporations, as well as the Department of Cybersecurity and High-Tech Crime Prevention (PA05) and the Department of Cybersecurity and Hi-tech Crime Prevention (A05), to prevent similar incidents moving forward, thereby ensuring safety for the securities market.
