Deputy PM attends HCM City Economic Forum 2019

VOV.VN - The Ho Chi Minh City Economic Forum 2019 opened on October 18, with Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam and Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung in attendance.

The forum is being held in the White Palace convention centre on theme of the development of Ho Chi Minh City into a regionally and global financial centre.
In his speech, Deputy PM Duc Dam urges ministries and localities to co-operate closely with Ho Chi Minh City in order to help transform the southern metropolis into a regional financial centre in the near future.
In total, 800 delegates are in attendance at the forum, including Government officials, ministers, representatives of diplomatic agencies, World Bank leaders, delegates from the International Monetary Fund members, the Asian Development Bank, and businessmen from across the globe.
Nguyen Thanh Phong, Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee, notes the forum will discuss measures aimed at developing Ho Chi Minh City into a global financial powerhouse.

Taking part in the event are Deputy PM Vu Duc Dam, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung, Deputy Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son, Deputy Finance Minister Huynh Van Hai, and Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam Nguyen Kim Anh.
Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung expressed his great appreciation for the determination that Ho Chi Minh City has to become a worldwide financial hub, saying that the city has shown great dynamism to attract increasing levels of domestic and foreign investment.
Delegates hold a private exchange at the forum.
On the sidelines of the forum, businesses enjoy the opportunity to display their products.
