Impressions of Vietnam-Thailand Trade Fair 2017

VOV.VN - The Vietnam-Thailand Trade Promotion Fair 2017, a leading event devoted to fashionable Thai products and cuisine, attracted thousands to Vo Van Ngan Street in District 9 of Ho Chi Minh City.  

Over three days, June 23-25, the setting becomes one of the country’s premier exhibitions, where visitors from across Vietnam can discover a rich panorama of quality and varied products.

These images will give you an idea of the trade fair's creative energy and lively atmosphere. Above: One of the roughly 30 kiosks featuring gourmet Thai cuisine with prices starting at US$.45 (VND10,000) per serving.

Thai ice cream is a signature dish at prices ranging US$0.70-US$.90 (VND15,000-20,000) per helping.

Snow cones, made of shaved ice and flavouring served in paper or foam cups, run US$.90 (VND20,000) each.

Corn dogs, a favourite at fairs around the globe, cost about US$.90 (VND20,000) each. 

Meat and vegetable skewers, also popular worldwide, costs about US$.70 (VND15,000) per portion.

Just about all food and drink servings are under US$1 (VND23,000) each. Pictured is a platter of grilled octopus.

Drinks galore including fruit juice, tea, coffee, plus so much more.

Thai salads can run as high as US$1.36 (VND30,000) per serving.

The fair generates much excitement, especially among the young, who enjoy gathering with friends, the entertainment and eating fantastic Thai and Vietnamese food.
