Vietjet Aviation Academy becomes training partner of IATA
VOV.VN - Budget airline Vietjet Air and the International Air Transport Association (IATA) recently signed a cooperation agreement to officially turn Vietjet Aviation Academy into IATA’s latest training partner in Vietnam.
Under the deal, Vietjet Aviation Academy will provide internationally recognised training programmes and regularly update them in line with the latest regulations, standards, and the rapidly changing needs of the aviation industry as a whole.
At the signing ceremony, Luong The Phuc, Vietjet vice president cum chairman of Vietjet Aviation Academy, emphasised that human resources remain the focal point of the airline and the aviation industry’s development plans.
“We are providing our trainees with the best learning environment, where everyone can attend IATA courses, receive IATA international certificates and access the most modern training equipment in the aviation industry,” Phuc added.
For his part, Philip Goh, regional vice president for the Asia – Pacific of IATA, underscored the importance of training sufficient human resources for the recovery of the aviation industry in the post-COVID period.
“Our cooperation with Vietjet Aviation Academy will further support the development of aviation talent in Vietnam and in the region,” he noted.
The partnership between Vietjet Aviation Academy and IATA is part of the airline’s sustainable development roadmap which includes research activities, application of science and technology, aviation technology, and creating a professional workforce training for the aviation industry.
A leading modern training and research institute both regionally and globally, Vietjet Aviation Academy currently possesses three cockpit simulators (SIM) for pilot training, aircraft and passenger cabin mockups, engines, technical parts, and functional training rooms.
Meanwhile, Vietjet Air is an official member of the IATA and it has acquired the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) certification.
