Vietnam International Woodworking Industry Fair kicks off in HCM City

VOV.VN - The 14th International Woodworking Industry Fair (VietnamWood 2022) and the Vietnam International Furniture Accessories, Hardware & Tool (Furnitec 2022) exhibition officially opened on October 18 in Ho Chi Minh City following a pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The two prestigious trade fairs have attracted the participation of several of the world's leading manufacturers, showcasing their innovative supply chains, cutting-edge technologies, as well as future development trends.

Nguyen Quoc Khanh, chairman of the Handicraft and Wood Industry Association of Ho Chi Minh City (HAWA), said the export of local timber and wood products during the initial nine months of the year surged by 7% to US$12.4 billion on-year.

Despite export turnover increasing strongly in September, other factors such as high inflation and uncertainties within the global economy will continue to negatively impact the wood processing industry’s export growth ahead during the remaining months of the year, he added.

Khanh stressed that the latest production solutions being devised at VietnamWood 2022 are anticipated to change the mindset of businesses and help them to make investment decisions and improve the overall quality of their products.

According to details given by organisers, the exhibitions have gathered more than 250 world-class suppliers from 25 countries and territories from around the world. Indeed, popular global brands from Austria, Canada, France, Germany, Russia, Taiwan (China), and the United States including Homag, Michael Weinig, SHODA, DIEFFENBACHER, LEITZ, JOWAT, SCM, Biesse, NANXING, LEADERMAC, IMOS, Cabinet Vision, Felder, JAF, HAFELE, BLUM, and Vetta are taking part in the event.

Held within the framework of the exhibition, a series of seminars will also be put on to help manufacturers control products from raw materials to finished products, thereby ensuring uniform quality among finished products, reducing production costs, improving designs, and increasing profits.

VietnamWood 2022 and Furnitec 2022 are scheduled to run through to October 21.
