Food and beverage expo brings high spirits to HCM City

The Vietnam Food Expo (November 16-19) provides an excellent opportunity for the nation’s food and beverage producers to showcase their commercial products and services to representatives from markets, retail buyers, and restaurants around the globe.

We want customers to buy Vietnam products, said Bui Huy Son of the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT), one of the organizers. The country is a major bread basket of the world, and this event is all about helping to get our nation’s products on international markets.

Mr Son, who, is head of the MOIT trade promotion agency, said this year Italy has been officially selected as the Country of Honour at the event.

With a top-notch reputation that is second to none, experts from the Italian food industry will host in depth conferences on the importance of food hygiene and safety as well as food technology of the Emilia Romanga region of Italy.

Among the many events that will run concurrently with the food expo, said Mr Son, are an expo featuring state-of-the-art food processing technologies, an international food industry conference and a Saigon cooking contest.

Mr Son noted that the 2015 Vietnam event was met with great success as it attracted more than 10.000 visitors from 33 countries, and showcased a high level of professionalism in its organization.

We’re very excited, about this year’s event, said Mr Son, noting that the turnout is expected to be much higher and we’re extending an open invitation to all to come join us for this exciting food and beverage extravaganza.
