Art program “Strong and rich from the national sea” takes place in Khanh Hoa

VOV.VN - A special art program entitled “Strong and rich from the national sea” was held at Nha Trang military port in Khanh Hoa province on August 12 evening.

The program aims to implement the Party Resolution on the Strategy on sustainable development of Vietnam’s marine economy to 2023, with a vision to 2045. Under this resolution the purely marine economic sectors will contribute 10% to the national GDP.

The program is co‑organized by the Voice of Vietnam (VOV), the Party Central Committee’s Communication and Education Commission, the General Politics Department of the Vietnam People’s Army, and Khanh Hoa authorities.

VOV President Do Tien Sy says the program aims to foster a profound sense of national pride, fortify the determination to safeguard sovereignty of national seas and islands, and enhance public awareness about the preservation and advancement of Vietnam's maritime domains.

The program also conveys a message about national pride and determination to defend national sovereignty over the country’s sea and islands and about Vietnam’s aspiration to master the sea, while harvesting its riches and defending peace at sea.

Under the baton of conductor Doan Nguyen, all performances deliver a message about love of the sea and sea defense.

The 90-minute program features three themes: “Sea Consciousness”, “Vietnam to Become Rich from the Sea”, and “Vietnam to Become Strong from the Sea”.

Over the past several months, artists at the VOV Orchestra have been working hard to prepare for the program.

The stage features a wharf surrounded by naval, coast guard, and border guard vessels.

The program includes 1,500 performers who staff the navy, border guard, and coast guard, and fishermen, and students from Khanh Hoa province.
