Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh arrives in Vinh Phuc province on September 1 in order to attend a ceremony to grant the State President’s decision to parole 71 prisoners in Vinh Quang prison.

A total of 71 prison inmates in Vinh Quang prison, including five foreigners, are released on parole.

Special Amnesty 2022 once again affirms the lenient policy of the Party and State, along with the humanitarian traditions of the Vietnamese people towards those who commit crimes. This is done to encourage them to repent their offences and practice hard to become useful citizens for society, Deputy PM Minh said.

Prisoners who are released on parole are given identity cards.

Each prisoner is also offered clothes and around VND100,000 to VND1 million so they can travel home.

This year, State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc signed a decision to grant parole to a total of 2,434 prison inmates, including 16 foreigners, on the occasion of Vietnam’s National Day on September 2, 1945.
