Chinese public opinion appreciative of NA Chairman’s visit

VOV.VN - Chinese public opinion has been positive about the visit made by National Assembly (NA) Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and legal moves related to foreign investment by the Vietnamese legislature.

April 12 marks the final working day of the top Vietnamese legislator and his high-ranking delegation’s six-day official visit to China.

Chinese public opinion highly appreciated the results of the visit, from strengthening co-ordination between the two legislative bodies to creating a legal framework aimed at helping to promote the potential and strengths in economic, trade, and investment co-operation between the two countries. This is along with strengthening the social foundation for the joint friendship, while expecting these achievements to contribute to deepening and enhancing bilateral ties.

During meetings and talks held with Chinese leaders, NA Chairman Hue proposed intensifying exchanges between the NA and the People's Republic of China, enhancing exchange and sharing of experience on parliamentary activities and NA agencies. This is along with strengthening the supervisory role of the two countries' legislatures in urging ministries, sector, and localities of both sides to implement signed documents and agreements.

For Chinese companies that have been investing in the Vietnamese market, such as Jiangsu Hui Shan New Energy Group, commitments and exchanges between the two countries' legislatures help to consolidate business confidence.

Shi Tong , CEO of Jiangsu Hui Shan New Energy Group, said that the positive exchange and mutual learning of experience between the two legislative bodies plays a vital role in accompanying and protecting investment companies in Vietnam, including the ones that set up shop in the Vietnamese market in order to expand abroad.

"The attitude of the political community helps increase our confidence. When there is confidence, there will be hope for the economy and greater investment," stated Dong.

According to Fu Wengang, Vice President of the Shanghai Association for Science and Technology, this shows that the Vietnamese legislature is increasingly focusing on creating a favourable legal environment for foreign businesses, including Chinese companies investing in the Vietnamese market.

He affirmed that this year he will lead a large-scale Shanghai business delegation to Ho Chi Minh City to seek further co-operation opportunities. "This is of great significance for businesses and is a legal guarantee for businessmen of the two countries to conduct economic and trade exchanges," said Cuong.

From the perspective of a researcher, Associate Professor Shang Feng of Beijing University of Foreign Trade and Economics paid special attention to the visit by NA Chairman Hue and the legal moves related to foreign investment by the Vietnamese legislature.

He assessed that over recent years the Vietnamese NA has constantly innovated the legislative mechanism, learned from international experience, improved the overall qualifications of the legislative team, and constantly amended and supplemented laws related to foreign investment. This has served to create many favorable conditions for foreigners to conduct business in the nation.

Prof. Feng said he believes that, in the future, the country will steadfastly pursue the path of innovation, open-door policy, and international integration, a move enabling the country’s level of openness to continuously improve. The prospects for economic, trade, and investment ties between both sides will therefore continue to get better and better.

Not only affirming and promoting the role of the legislature in economics, trade, and investment activities between the two sides, NA Chairman Hue also proposed enhancing the role of NA deputies and members the Vietnam-China Friendship Parliamentary Group in propagating friendship, strengthening consensus among the people, and building a solid social foundation for the two countries' relations.

As a Chinese representative speaking at the friendly meeting between the two sides within the framework of the visit, Yu Suihui, a former medical staff at Nan Xishan Hospital in China who once supported and treated Vietnamese sick soldiers during the resistance war against the United States, strongly agreed with this viewpoint.

She said that the visit made by the top Vietnamese legislator symbolizes the next step in the friendly relations between both sides, helping to strengthen people-to-people exchanges and bring friendship, co-operation, and brotherhood between the two sides to new heights.

"We need to inherit and boost the friendship that has been diligently cultivated by our predecessors and leaders of the two Parties and countries, especially the second and third generations of young people who will go ahead with the good relations," Yu Suihui said.

Following a series of high-level visits made by Party, State, and Government leaders of Vietnam in 2023, the visit to China by NA Chairman Hue and his high-ranking delegation has contributed deepening and pushing up the relationship between the two nations and elevating the comprehensive strategic co-operative partnership towards the joint building of the Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future that carries strategic significance.
