Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev ends Vietnam visit

VOV.VN - President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev left Hanoi on August 22, concluding his three-day visit to Vietnam at the invitation of his Vietnamese counterpart Vo Van Thuong.

During his stay, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held talks with President Vo Van Thuong, and met with other senior Vietnamese leaders, including Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue.

Both sides agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation in traditional fields and expand cooperation in new fields to fully tap into their potential. They exchanged measures to ramp up cooperation in politics, economy-trade-investment, transportation, logistics, culture and tourism.

The two sides consented to increase the exchange of delegations at all levels and people-to-people exchanges, and to bring into full play the existing cooperation mechanisms such as the Intergovernmental committee, political consultations and others aimed at enhancing mutual trust and cooperation.

They also exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual concern, and signed a number of cooperation documents.

While staying in Vietnam, the Kazakh President laid a wreath at the President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and the Monument to Heroes and Martyrs, and visited a number of economic establishments, including Chu Dau pottery village in Hai Duong province.
