State President meets Embassy officials, staff in Russia

VOV.VN - State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, who is currently on an official visit to Russia, on November 30 met with officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy and other Vietnamese representative agencies in Russia.

Addressing the meeting, President Phuc said that he had had a very successful meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin which lasted for 3 hours 45 minutes and focused on 20 areas of cooperation between the two countries.

Both sides had reached high consensus on various issues and issued a joint statement on the vision of the Vietnam – Russia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership until 2030, he said.

According to the President, Russia is an important and leading partner in Vietnam’s foreign policy, and Vietnamese representative missions in Russia should work hard to promote bilateral cooperation, especially in the areas of economy, defense, security, science and technology.

He requested that the embassy better perform tasks of protecting citizens, supporting overseas Vietnamese to have more practical activities towards the homeland and preserving traditional culture in their second home country.
