Chien also conveyed Hue’s invitation to the National People’s Congress of China to send a delegation to the ninth Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians to be held in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, in September 2023.

Zhao thanked Hue for the invitations, and expressed his desire to visit Vietnam at an appropriate time. He also extended his greetings to Hue and said that the two countries need to further strengthen exchanges between their legislative bodies.

During their meeting in Beijing, Chien, who is in China for a working visit, spoke highly of the tremendous achievements that China has recorded in recent times, and expressed his belief that China, under the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party led by General Secretary and President Xi Jinping, will reap greater successes in building it into a modern, prosperous, strong, democratic, civilized, harmonious and beautiful socialist country, with an increasingly high international position.

He spoke highly of the positive developments of the comprehensive strategic cooperation partnership between the two countries through regular visit exchanges, including the China visit in November 2022 by General Party Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and another China visit in June 2023 by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

Vietnam attaches great importance to and always gives top priority to developing its relations with China, Chien confirmed, adding Vietnam supports China’s development and efforts to promote its active role in peace, stability and prosperity in the region and the world at large.

He briefed his host on the operation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and said the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference effectively implemented their MoU on cooperation for 2014-2019.

Chien said during his working visit this time, he would meet with Wang Huning, president of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference to discuss the direction of future cooperation between the two organizations, including maintaining the exchange of high-level delegations and examining the signing of a new MoU on cooperation.

They will also discuss bilateral coordination in organizing the second friendship exchange between the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, and another friendship exchange between seven Vietnamese provinces bordering China and China’s Yunnan province and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

He hoped Zhao would support effective cooperation between the two front organisations, and personally vowed to work hard to further cultivate the traditional friendship, neighbourliness and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, States and peoples.

Zhao for his part welcomed Vietnam’s stance of priorotising cooperation with China, and affirmed China would work closely with Vietnam to build their own socialism with distinctive characteristics.

He suggested that the two countries strengthen high-level exchanges through flexible forms, exploit the complementary potential of the two sides, and ensure a smooth supply chain, along with promoting people-to-people exchanges in line with the perceptions and policies of the two sides.
