Hanoi capital has new leader
VOV.VN - Tran Sy Thanh, a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and deputy secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, has been elected head of the municipal administration for the 2021-2026 tenure.
100% of deputies voted in favour of Thanh’s nomination at the ongoing eight session of the Municipal People’s Council on July 22.
Thanh, 51, holds a master’s degree in Economics, and a bachelor’s degree in Finance and Accounting. He had held various senior positions in Dak Lak, Bac Giang and Lang Son and several economic groups before being appointed auditor general of the State Audit in April 2021.
In mid-July 2022, the Politburo assigned Thanh to quit work at the State Audit and appointed him deputy secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee for the 2020-2025 tenure.
