Mid-year National Assembly session set to last for 26 days

VOV.VN - The National Assembly is scheduled to hold its 26-day session from May to June this year with a short break between the two phases, according to National Assembly General Secretary Bui Van Cuong.

The National Assembly will convene the meeting in two phases, with the first lasting from May 20 to June 8, nd the second from June 17 to June 27, Cuong said at a meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee in Hanoi on June April 17.

According to the general secretary, the coming session will mainly focus on lawmaking, implementation of socio-economic development and budgetary tasks, and supervision work, among others.

It will spend two and a half days questioning Government ministers about issues of voter concern.

Meanwhile, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue said the coming session will have a huge workload, including approving 10 bills and three resolutions and debate 11 other bills.

Among the legal documents to be passed will be the Social Insurance Law (amended), Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety, Capital Law (amended), Law on Asset Auctions, and Law on Management and Use of Weapons, Explosives and Support Tools (amended).

He asked relevant bodies to complete preparations and send draft documents to lawmakers to ensure quality debates at the coming session.
