PM chairs national conference on COVID-19 control

VOV.VN - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on May 29 played host to a national conference on COVID-19 prevention and control amid complex developments of the new COVID-19 wave in Vietnam,

The conference was held in the online format and was connected to all cities and provinces across the country, especially to localities which are home to industrial parks and economic zones.

Representatives of the National Steering Committee on COVID-19 Prevention and Control, ministries, agencies and localities reviewed the situation and proposed measures believed to be stronger and more effective in order to keep the latest outbreak in check.

The PM is set to make conclusions that dwell on ways to meet the new COVID-19 threats.

Data from the Ministry of Health show as of May 29 Vietnam has confirmed 3,594 locally transmitted cases in 33 cities and provinces nationwide since the resurgence of the virus in late April.

Bac Giang province, which close to Hanoi capital, is the worst hit locality, recording nearly 1,900 new cases.
