State President inspects amnesty work in Bac Giang

The leadership of the detention camp reported that they have disseminated criteria for parole to all officers and prison inmates shortly after the State President announced a decision on special parole this year.

The camp has strictly implemented COVID-19 prevention and control measures since the start of the first outbreak in January 2020. So far none of officers and inmates have been infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

It has also developed plans to respond to an outbreak if it happens, with a primary focus on purchasing quick test kits, chemicals and medical supplies, preparing hospital beds for patients and carrying out vaccinations.

State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc lauded the detention camp’s preparations for this year’s special amnesty that shows the Party’s and State’s humanitarian policy towards those who have excelled during their prison term and shown the will to reintegrate into the community and become good citizens.  

He reminded that the compilation, appraisal and approval of dossiers for parole must be done transparently, democratically and lawfully to ensure only those who meet the criteria will be given a free pardon this time.

The State President also expressed hope relevant ministries and localities will welcome back returnees and create the best possible conditions for them to reintegrate well into the community.
