Foreign military attachés tour Vietnam’s naval units

Foreign military attachés were taken on a tour of several units of the Vietnam People’s Navy in the northern city of Hai Phong on June 15, the Quan doi Nhan dan (People’s Army) daily reported. 

At the headquarters of the navy’s High Command, Rear Admiral Pham Hoai Nam gave the foreign attachés an introduction of the force’s history, especially its external activities over the last few years. 

The guests later visited Missile Brigade 679 and facilities and production lines of the Hong Ha shipbuilding factory under the General Department of Defence Industry. 

On behalf of the visitors, South African military attaché Mpiwa Kgotso Abiel thanked the Vietnamese denfence ministry for the chance to gain understanding about the Vietnam People’s Navy. 

He said he hopes to visit other military units in Vietnam in the near future.
