Hanoi seeks design assistance from Germany

Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung has asked for design assistance from Germany for the National Exhibition and Fair Centre which will be built in Hanoi’s Dong Anh district.

Receiving Vice President of the Frankfurt Book Fair Claudia Kaiser and German designers on December 13, the chairman briefed the guests on the “National Exhibition and Fair Centre” project and hoped they would help Hanoi design the centre’s main building, advise on the content of exhibitions and train human resources for the centre.

Chung said Hanoi will make efforts to expand the scale and quality of its booth at the Frankfurt Book Fair and wished to get advice from the organising board to make Hanoi’s booth more appealing.

Claudia Kaiser praised Hanoi’s development in tourism and culture, adding that she was impressed with Hanoi’s booth at the Frankfurt Book Fair this year.

She invited Chung to attend the event in 2017 and said that President of the Frankfurt Book Fair Juergen Boos plans to visit Hanoi from February 28 to March 3 to discuss cooperation.

On the National Exhibition and Fair Centre project, Claudia Kaiser affirmed Germany is willing to coordinate with ministries and relevant agencies to implement the project, creating a landmark for the city.
