Russia- a reliable friend of Vietnam

VOV.VN - President Tran Dai Quang met on June 28 in Moscow with members of the Russia-Vietnam Friendship Association and the Russia Union of Veterans who once worked in Vietnam.

In his address, President Quang highlighted the Association's contributions to strengthening the traditional friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

He insisted that Russia has been and will be a reliable friend to Vietnam, adding that the signing of a free trade agreement between Vietnam and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) will create new momentum and opportunities for Vietnam’s trade with EAEU members, especially Russia, to grow.

“During this visit, we and Russian leaders have continued to discuss specific measures to deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two nations while promoting our reliable political ties. The visit will benefit both peoples as well as international peace,” said President Quang.

He said he hopes the Russia-Vietnam Friendship Association will continue helping the Vietnamese community to integrate into Russia to consolidate the friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.

The same day, President Quang met some of the Vietnamese students and businesses people living there.

He reiterated the Vietnamese Party and government’s unwavering policy of considering overseas Vietnamese an indispensable part of the nation, and creating the best possible conditions for them to adapt to their host country while preserving their national culture.

He called on the Vietnamese community to uphold the tradition of showing mutual affection and contributing their ideas to national construction and development.

The Vietnamese State leader asked the Vietnam Embassy to help the fellow-countrymen deal with residence, business, and trade difficulties while promoting the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Russia.
