Reporting on the roadmap for the deployment of the third hospital, Colonel Phung said the personnel preparation and training plan for the hospital is actively implemented.
The third will have 70 staff, including 10 women. The hospital staff will be equipped with skills in performing tasks at a UN mission, towards replacing the second one in 2020. The training programme covers terms of political education, military training, technical logistics, medical expertise, English language, peacekeeping-related knowledge, survival skills, and ensuring security, safety in mission performing.
Vietnam dispatched the first hospital to the UN mission in South Sudan in October 2018.
Officers and soldiers of the hospital have well finished their mission to ensure health care for UN peacekeepers in South Sudan. They also actively joined defence foreign affairs and served as medical care-givers to locals.
