Success of Vietnamese general elections highlighted by Laotian media
VOV.VN - Several Laotian media outlets have published articles featuring the recent Vietnamese elections of deputies to the 15th National Assembly (NA) and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021 to 2026 tenure.
They emphasized that the country ensured democracy, security, and safety for the political event.
The news agency (KPL) reported on May 24 that over 60 million Vietnamese voters across the country had cast their vote on May 23 to elect qualified members to represent local citizens in the NA.
The piece stated that this marked a great festival and an important opportunity for all Vietnamese people to exercise their rights as citizens, along with their obligations and responsibilities.
In its article published on the same day by The Pasaxon, the newspaper of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, the success of the Vietnamese general elections was highlighted.
According to the newspaper, over 69 million voters across the country on May 23 exercised their right and followed their duty to elect deputies to the 15th NA and People's Councils at all levels.
The nation recorded a high turnout rate in the elections with roughly 98.43%, it said, noting that this indicates the high responsibility and confidence of Vietnamese voters towards the significant political event.
