A returnee from Russia infected with SARS-CoV-2
VOV.VN - A Vietnamese returnee from Russia has been diagnosed with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, bringing the country’s tally of coronavirus infections to 1,169, the Ministry of Health said on October 26.
The 57-year-old man of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province in the south took flight VN5062 from Russia to Vietnam on October 16. He was quarantined as soon as he landed at Van Don International Airport in Quang Ninh province, northern Vietnam.
He tested positive on October 25 and is now receiving treatment at a polyclinic of Hoa Lu district, Ninh Binh province.
The same flight had seen 14 others infected with the virus, including five from Quang Ninh, five from NInh Binh and four from Nam Dinh.
As of 18.00hrs October 26 Vietnam has recorded a total of 1,169 imported and locally transmitted cases. As many as 1,061 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospital, while 35 patients have died of the disease and related illnesses.
Vietnam has entered the 54th consecutive day October 26 without new community cases.
