Chinese clinics fined for environmental violations
Two Chinese traditional medical clinics in Ho Chi Minh City have been fined VND270 million (US$12,857) for breaking environmental regulations.
The environmental police penalized two Chinese traditional medical clinics at 141 Phan Dang Luu Street in Phu Nhuan District and at 1503 Ba Thang Hai Street in District 11 on June 27 for not recycling dangerous toxic waste and not using proper facilities for storing the waste.
Moreover, their environment protection project has remained unapproved.
The environmental police also asked the Chinese clinics to draw up a report on their environment protection plans and strictly abide by regulations.
The same day, the Department of Health discovered violations by a Chinese clinic at 762 Cach Mang Thang Tam Street in Tan Binh District.

The facility is licensed as a traditional medicine clinic but it has advertised for services of a general hospital.
The clinic also admitted that it has temporarily stopped operations for repairs, but still continues to receive patients.
Health authorities found that there were Chinese doctors working in the clinic though it claimed to have no Chinese medics.
Health inspectors decided to transfer the case to police for further probe.
The health watchdog announced that it will revoke licence of the clinics under law.
