Construction work on new Ghenh bridge starts
Construction work on the new Ghenh bridge across the Dong Nai River in the southern province of Dong Nai began on April 1 and is expected to be completed on July 15.
It will have three 75 metre spans. The new bridge’s width will be expanded by 2.4 meters to allow for motorcycle and bicycle transportation.
The Prime Minister has agreed in principle to the allocation of nearly VND300 billion (US$13 million) for the urgent construction work of the bridge.
The old bridge was built more than 113 years ago and was used for both rail and vehicle transportation.
