Czech Republic hails Vietnam’s support to COVID-19 fight

VOV.VN - Czech politicians have recently acknowledged the Vietnamese community’s considerable contributions to the Czech Republic’s fight against COVID-19.

In a letter dated February 15, Health Minister Jan Blatny said the Czech government has highly appreciated the Vietnamese community’s joint efforts to support the fight against COVID-19 within the community as well as the Czech society.

Among the activities, he noted Vietnamese nationals sewn and delivered face masks to Czech healthcare workers, State employees and people, amid the spread of the virus in the country.

They also helped set up hotline 1212 to provide free consultancy and interpretation for Vietnamese people in need.

Blatny thanked the Vietnamese community for the support and extended his greetings to the community on the occasion of the 2021 lunar New Year celebration.

Earlier, in his remarks, Czech President Milos Zeman and Prime Minister Andrej Babis acknowledged the community’s contributions as well as timely support and assistance from the Vietnamese government and people to the Czech Republic.

The Czech Republic is among European countries that have recorded thousands of coronavirus infections every day.
