|A child in Dak Lak province receives free screening and consultation for congenital heart diseases|
According to director of Dak Lak children protection fund Lam Dinh Nhien, besides screening, the programme will provide free surgeries for children with congenital heart diseases from poor families in mountainous, remote and ethnic areas, contributing to easing burden on their families.
Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee H’Yim Kdoh affirmed that the move is significant to quickly detect congenital heart disease and begin early treatment for local children.
She also called for sectors, branches, organisations and individuals to give more support for children suffering from congenital heart defects to ensure that they will have better lives.
Last year, 58 local children with congenital heart defects underwent surgeries which cost nearly 3 billion VND (129,000 USD), funded by the province’s children protection fund and donors.
