General Ngo Xuan Lich visits AO victims, bearing gifts

(VOV) - Senior Lieutenant General Ngo Xuan Lich paid a visit to children, young adults and veterans disabled by the effects of Agent Orange (AO) on January 18, and brought along gifts valued at more than US$6,700.

The Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Chief of the General Department of Politics under the Vietnam People's Army paid the visit to residents of the Vietnam Friendship Village on the occasion of the upcoming Tet New Year Holiday.

He said he hoped the gifts would help overcome some of their hardships and emphasized that the Party and Government would always be indebted to them for their sacrifice and service to the revolutionary cause.

On the occasion he also extended best wishes to the village staff and thanked them for their dedicated mission of helping to heal the wounds of the Vietnam War by uniting veterans and caring citizens through international cooperation.
