HCM City prioritises seven transport projects for 2021-2025

Ho Chi Minh City will prioritise seven transport projects as part of its smart urban programme during the 2021-2025 period.

The projects aim to apply technologies in urban management in the southern metropolis.

Of the projects, six are expected to use the city’s budget with total funding of VND851 billion (US$37.1 million), and the other is worth about VND5.7 trillion from other sources.

To implement such projects, the municipal People’s Committee has assigned the Department of Transport to coordinate with the Department of Information and Communications, the Department of Home Affairs and relevant agencies to raise proposals regarding human resources development in order to bring into full play achievements of the fourth Industrial Revolution in smart urban management.

The committee also asked relevant units to continue rolling out smart urban projects under the project on building HCM City into an urban area during 2017-2020 period, with a vision towards 2025.
