HCM City proposes 7-day quarantine for F0 at concentrated facilities

VOV.VN - Ho Chi Minh City has submitted a proposal to the Ministry of Health allowing it to cut short the concentrated quarantine time for F0 cases to seven days.

The pilot scheme will be applicable to asymptomatic cases that have already received two vaccine doses and have a negative test on the seventh day of their quarantine time.

According to the HCM City Municipal Department of Health, many asymptomatic cases or those with mild symptoms have fully recovered from COVID-19 after seven days staying at concentrated facilities and taking in Molnupiravir – an anti-viral drug.

However, under the Ministry of Health’s guidance, these patients are required to stay 14 days at concentrated quarantine facilities, resulting in an overload at these facilities, as well as for the health sector.

Currently, HCM City is quarantining and treating 66,722 F0 cases that are asymptomatic or with mild symptoms. Of the total, 48,903 people are being monitored at home and 5,185 at concentrated facilities.

The city will continue to allow home quarantine for F0 cases if they meet certain conditions or transfer them to concentrated facilities in other cases. Meanwhile, symptomatic cases requiring medical intervention will be transferred to hospitals for COVID-19 treatment.

HCM City has recorded more than 450,000 coronavirus cases since the virus recurred in late April, or almost half the country’s totals.
