Leaders congratulate media agencies on Press Day

VOV.VN -  Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh visited the Government Portal and the Great Unity newspaper on Tuesday to mark Vietnam’s Revolutionary Press Day on June 21.

Head of the Party Central Committee’s Organization Commission Pham Minh Chinh congratulated Voice of Vietnam (VOV) leaders and staff during a visit the same day.

He said he hopes VOV will continue contributing to building up the Party and political system and steering the public.

“Communications plays an important role in nation building and defense. I hope that VOV will continue to promote role models and good deeds and prevent political, ideological, and moral degradation as well as self-transformation and self-evolution," he said

A commemorative meeting was also held in Ho Chi Minh city by the municipal Journalists’ Association.  

Meanwhile, a host of diverse activities were launched nationwide to mark the special day.

The Steering Committee for the Northwestern Region held a meeting with representatives from media agencies to mark Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, June 21.

Deputy Head of the Committee, Hau A Lenh said he hopes the media will accompany the Committee in disseminating party guidelines and government policies and promote the potential and advantages of the northwestern region to attract investment for regional development.

The media will introduce the people to scientific and technological knowledge and good production practices so they can escape poverty and become better-off.

Can Tho city’s authority and Fatherland Front congratulated media agencies on Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day. 

They asked the media to increase effort in combating corruption and negative phenomena in society. Can Tho city has 56 media agency offices with about 1,000 reporters and editors.

Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day has been celebrated in Bac Lieu, Binh Duong, Nghe An, Gia Lai, and Tay Ninh province.
