More than 58,000 Vietnamese people vaccinated against SARS-CoV-2
VOV.VN - As many as 58,037 people from 19 cities and provinces across the country have been inoculated against the SARS-CoV-2 virus, the Ministry of Health said on April 10.
Most of the vaccinated people are healthcare workers, members of anti-coronavirus community group members, and members of the steering committees on CVOID-19 prevention and control in localities.
They are among those who are given top priority during the vaccination campaign.
Vietnam began the campaign on March 3, using the AstraZeneca vaccine manufactured by the Republic of Korea.
The Ministry of Health purchased more than 117,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine in late February, and received more than 800,000 doses of the same vaccine sponsored by COVAX Facility recently.
COVAX Facility, a global risk-sharing mechanism for pooled procurement and equitable distribution of COVID-19 vaccines, has pledged to roll out 30 million doses to Vietnam this year.
Elsewhere, Vietnam has not detected any coronavirus cases during the past 12 hours, after recording 15 imported cases on April 9.
