National Party Congress: Over 10,000 people test negative for COVID-19

VOV.VN - More than 10,000 delegates and those serving the upcoming 13th National Party Congress have tested negative for the SRAS-CoV-2 virus for the second time, the Ministry of Health announced on January 24.

It is mandatory that all delegates to the congress and those who serve the event must undergo two COVID-19 tests, with the first to be done seven days ahead of the congress and the second 1- 2 days before the congress.

After two tests, more than 10,000 people attending and serving the congress are SARS-CoV-2 virus free, the ministry confirmed.

“We still need to strictly implement COVID-19 preventive measures in line with the Party Secretariat’s telegram, the Prime Minister’s directive and the Minister of Health’s directive on COVID-19 prevention,” said Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long.

The Communist Party of Vietnam will hold the 13th National Congress from January 25 to February 2 in Hanoi.

As many as 1,587 delegates representing more than 5.1 million Party members nationwide will attend the country’s most important political event, up nearly 80 delegates compared to the 12th congress and the largest number among the 13 congresses.
